HAPPY NEW YEAR!! What a year this will be! Exciting, exciting stuff will be happening 🙂 And to reflect on last year a little, it was a pretty awesome year itself! We have some great memories that will be with us forever. This past week was mostly uneventful. Sean’s parents left Monday and went to North Carolina for a few days. His brother stayed with us for the week which was really great because we don’t usually get to spend a lot of time with him. He & Sean got to play lots of computer games together and hang out and we all got to spend time together at dinner and such.
Friday my parents got here and we had a small Christmas celebration. Saturday, Sean, my mom, & I ran some errands – we got to go back to IKEA! Whoo-hoo 🙂 We got two small bookshelves for the baby’s room and another bookshelf for our den to complete the set. We also got massages, which was great since it had been 3 weeks since our last one. We are set to go again in 2 weeks (I hope I make it to that appointment!). That night was New Year’s Eve and Sean was set to brew (beer) with our neighbor, so we made it a NYE celebration brew : ) We had black eyed pea/cheesey dip (for good luck) and lots of other yummy appetizers. It was a really fun night and good to spend time with our neighbors (whom we really like and are so happy to have next door!) and my parents. We rang in the New Year with a little champange, played some Wii, and then went to bed 🙂
Sunday my mom & I ran just a few errands and I was able to get a few more things that we ‘need’ before the baby gets here. I really need to pack our hospital bag!! I suppose I’ll do that Monday or Wednesday. We had lunch with my parents and then they went home. After having family here for over a week, it is very nice to just be together alone. We loved all our family time and it was great to have everyone here, but now that it’s over we are enjoying our alone time too.
What a great holiday week we had! Our little baby enjoyed all the family time too and all the yummy food!! Now we’ve got about 4 weeks left! We can’t believe it. I really feel like this ‘nine’ months has gone by REALLY quick. We worked more on the baby’s room today and it is looking really, really good. I’m so happy with it! We have one more shower (next weekend) and then I’ll need to stock up on whatever we don’t have that we ‘need’. Time is winding down… 🙂 I’ve got a Dr. appointment this week – can’t wait to see what’s up… or down! More next week.
Our little one is now the size of a crenshaw melon (weighing about 5.5 lbs and around 18.5 in. long)!
