I know, I know… it’s been a really long time since I’ve posted! We’ve just been so busy and then we I get a moment to myself, I just really don’t feel like writing or going through a ton of pictures to pick out the best ones. But here I am again, I knew I would have the urge again someday and it was today 🙂 I am going to combine weeks # 31 & 32 for convenience sake (and because I’m having a hard time remembering what we did those weeks!).

Tuesday Haley had been on the hydrocortizone for 1 week – and it worked great. I hope the rash doesn’t come back. Friday we closed on our house – wait, what?! Yes, we closed on our house. We actually just refinanced our current house and will be saving quite a bit every month because of it. Yay! So that is pretty exciting.

Saturday we started our beach trip with my parents. They rented a place in Indian Rocks Beach for a week starting Saturday. The whole week was wonderful – very relaxing and fun too. We went down to the beach about once a day and visited the pool as well. Haley was a little messed up with her napping, but it didn’t matter much – she loved the beach! She liked it before, but this was the first time she was really playing and having a great time 🙂 She played in the sand – it didn’t bother her a bit, and she played in the warm Gulf water. She even took a few walks on the beach in a stroller and did some shell hunting.

Sean left on Tuesday evening and Haley & I stayed overnight with my parents. On Wednesday evening we met Sean and my Uncle, Aunt, & Cousin at Treasure Island to have a memorial service for my Grammy. She’s been gone now for 12 years, but it’s still hard to think that she’s not around. I know she would have loved Sean and I know she would have been enamored with Haley 🙂 Anyway, we scattered her ashes on the beach where she and her friends used to go all the time. There were 2 rainbows and a beautiful sunset that evening. Afterwards my parents, Sean, Haley, & I went out for dinner. Haley slept the whole time (which was perfect) and it was a really nice ending to the day. Haley & I went back home with Sean that night and on Thursday we did laundry and had a catch up day. Then on Friday the two of us went back out to the beach just for the day. On Saturday we saw my parents for lunch again as they started their trip back home. It was a really great week 🙂

Sunday (the 9th) was Grandparents Day and we Skyped with Sean’s grandparents and his parents to wish them all a happy day 🙂 We talked with my parents on the phone to do the same.

On Monday Haley had her second Flu shot (2 of 2). She did really well and only cried until I picked her up. I forgot to get her weighed though – that was a little disappointing. Her rash is coming back after our week at the beach and being wet a lot I think, but we didn’t see the doctor today so I’m going to try and treat it at home first.

Haley stuff: On the 28th she sat up on her own for the first time! I’ve been really working with her on this for a while – wanting her to be able to get herself off the floor when she falls over because she gets quite aggravated. Well, she just wasn’t getting it… then on the 28th I put her down for a nap and after I thought she was asleep I went in to get the laundry and she just sat up! What was even better was that she was still mostly asleep! It was pretty hilarious. But then she refused to go to sleep. It took about 2 hours to finally get her down because she just kept sitting back up and crying! I’m not sure why I was in such a hurry to teach her this new little trick! That day she also started banging two things together while playing 🙂 Fun stuff!

Then, while we were at the beach, Haley started crawling! She wasn’t full on crawling, but she was getting around pushing with her legs – it was pretty cute. And she was pretty excited about her new found independence. In the next week or so, I think she’s going to get pretty good. The beach house was a little hindering because it was mostly laminate floor which was hard for her to get a grip on! Once we’re back on our carpet she’s going to take off 🙂

Also, on Friday at the beach I noticed two little white spots on her bottom gums! Then on Sunday they were really noticeable and the next day, Monday the 10th she had 2 little teeth sticking out! We didn’t even realize she was teething – what a good baby she is! Looking back the only thing that I can think of is that she’s been rubbing her ears. But she was mostly doing it at night and I thought it was a tired thing. I guess her little teeth were bugging her though! She hasn’t been extra crabby or had any troubles sleeping… we have been VERY lucky!

I know we did a lot more than just that in the last 2 weeks, but I’ve forgotten it all! Hope to be better again at writing these posts sooner 🙂 More next week…
