  1. Week of Life #42: November 13th to November 19th – The Aquarium!

    42 Weeks old

This week went by pretty quick for me. Wednesday we had our termite treatment done. It was pretty fast and we didn’t even have to leave the house, so hopefully that will be that. I’m praying that’s the end of the termites.

Thursday we met our friends at the mall for some walking. That was nice since we hadn’t seen them since Hayden turned 1! We’re thinking about going to the park this coming week since the weathers been much more park-like. My mom also came down on Thursday afternoon. She watched Haley for me while I washed my car 🙂 And then on Friday Sean & I both went to our workplaces and Gammy & Haley had a day together. That night I got my haircut – it had been a year, so it was needed. I really like how it turned out. Nothing special, but the guy actually listened to what I wanted and did it! Yeah, I know, impressive! Sean has been seeing him for a couple months now too, and he is very happy with his hair too. Anyone in our area – we would definitely recommend Salon Red in Palm Harbor (if you want our guys name, message me & I’ll get it to ya!).

Saturday we did something that I’ve really been wanting to do for a while now. We went to the Florida Aquarium. It was a lot of fun! Haley didn’t nap real well on the way there like we had hoped, so she was a little tired, but she still really liked it. She was especially enamored with a little octopus, all the little fish, and the otters. She did not care for the big fish – as in any that were bigger than her! I think it will be more and more fun to take her as she gets a little older. But, it was still a lot of fun this time – and Sean & I had fun too. I think when she’s a bit older, I’ll get us a year pass and then we can go when it’s too hot outside to play, or when it’s too cold, or rainy… I think we’ll get a lot of use out of a pass. We’re also thinking about getting Haley a tiny aquarium because she really does like to watch fish 🙂

Sunday Sean did some yard work and then we all ran a few errands in the afternoon. We got sand for a sandbox for Haley 🙂 and 2 Christmas ornaments for this year. We get one each year for us, so we got 1 family ornament and 1 baby’s first Christmas ornament. So excited to put them on a tree! But we won’t be getting one until December – gotta have Thanksgiving first!

Today, Monday, I’m having some back issues again, so we’re taking it easy today (do you hear that Haley??). Not too much housework and not too much picking up baby… we’ll see how that goes 🙂

Haley is doing awesome 🙂 She’s walking around the furniture like it’s her job. She’s even been letting go for a few seconds here and there when she’s very intent on something and doesn’t realize she’s not holding on anymore! Then she figures it out and sits down. She’s really been getting into her little walker – even crawling up to it a few times by herself and walking around. She’s figured out that if she crawls over to me or Sean and then stands up holding onto our legs, we will pick her up – really cute! She’s talking up a storm all the time now. I’m pretty sure she made her first sign on Saturday! She wanted her cup and I said to her, “Show me ‘cup’” and made the sign myself and then she did it!! I was so excited 🙂 I’m really hoping that she gets the hang of a few signs soon! Her top teeth are definitely coming in. I can’t really see anything yet, but on Saturday she started tonguing her upper gums a lot and also covering them with her lips. She definitely feels something new there! I can’t wait to see if they both come in together like her bottoms ones did or one at a time. Saturday the 10th we gave Haley her last bath in the sink 🙁 She’s out of control in there! Standing up all the time – it just got to be dangerous. So, not we’re in the big tub. And – she doesn’t care for it at all. I’ve tried getting in with her and it helps a little, but she still just wants to stand up – which we can’t allow! Otherwise, she fusses and cries. Oh well – she’ll get used to it after a while (I hope!).

I guess that’s it for now. More next week! We can’t wait for Thanksgiving!!
