  1. Thirty-Three Weeks

    December 13, 2011 by brooke

    33 weeks + 1 day

After being so sick last week, I was back to work this week – still sick, but much, much better.  So, because of that I tried to take it easy again this week.  Tuesday I was able to work a little more on the baby’s room.  I’m trying to get things organized so that I can figure out exactly what we have and what we still need.  And, I still have to go through that closet and clean it out!

Wednesday I had my 32 weeks appointment.  It went very well.  I am measuring right back on track again (32 cm) and the baby’s heart beat is still in the 150’s.  I asked the Dr. and at first she was thinking the baby was a little transverse (sideways), but then she felt around a little more and was thinking ‘he’s’ mostly head down and curled around a little bit.  Either way there’s still time for ‘him’ to get into position!  It was pretty funny because the Dr. said that people may start telling me that I’m so tiny still.  I had to laugh because most everyone I talk to tells me how small I still am.  The Dr. then said that I am fine and so is baby 🙂  I’ve got one more every 2 week appointment and then we start going every week at 36 weeks.  I can’t believe we’re so far along! It’s really gone by extremely fast.  It feels like we’re not ready at all (physically, emotionally…), but I know it will all fall into place once that baby is in our arms.  We just keep reminding ourselves that 🙂

Friday we had a few of Sean’s work friends over and watched a couple movies and celebrated a birthday.  It was a fun night. Saturday we got our Christmas tree and then put the lights on- it looks great!  Then we went to Sean’s work Holiday Party – it was very nice and fun too.  It was also a very late night (at least for me!).  But it was fun and I got to visit with people I haven’t seen in a while.

Today we slept in a bit and then had massages – much, much needed!!  Then we watched 2 more movies.  It was a nice and relaxing day.  The baby had a nice day too and Sean was able to feel ‘him’ moving around a lot today and got to feel the hiccups again 🙂

This week we also put the stroller together and took our pup for a walk with it.  I want to get him used to walking with me and baby in the stroller.  He did great! Didn’t even really seem to notice the stroller.  I think that’s it for baby news this week – oh, symptoms… still very lucky on that front.  I’m tired at the end of the day (naps are very nice, but can’t do it every day).  I’m trying really hard to eat small meals throughout the day (otherwise I feel sick eating too much at once).  Baby is moving a lot still and it is uncomfortable at times (but I learned today that is normal around now because the baby is getting bigger and the fluid surrounding the baby is not able to cushion the jabs as much).  Not heartburn yet.  Very occasionally I have a little indigestion/reflux, but it’s not bad at all.  And last, of course the every 15 minute trip to the bathroom!  I’m calling it my baby bladder 🙂  But, it’s all worth it!  That’s it for now 🙂

    Movies we watched this weekend:

‘The Green Latern’ – much better than expected.  I really enjoyed it – I thought it was an entertaining movie and I really like the main actor 🙂

‘The Help’ – Very good movie, however, the book was definitely better.  Having said that, the movie did get the point of the book across and I did enjoy watching it (and I did shed a tear or two).

‘Cowboys & Aliens’ – this was an interesting concept… I liked it though!  I really like action movies and this had a good bit of that in it.  I very much enjoyed this movie 🙂

Oh!  We put up a poll so you can all vote on what gender you think the baby will be 🙂

Our little one is now the size of a pineapple or a honeydew melon (weighing around 4 pounds and measuring around 17 in. long)!
